Lowe Begins Construction on Newest WA Development

Lowe began construction on The Talisman, a six-story, 286-unit, multifamily development situated at the 1.2-million-square-foot Redmond Town Center in Redmond, Wash. The Talisman is set to anchor the Redmond Town Center’s mixed-use development and will also include 9,400 square feet of ground floor specialty retail shops.

“With The Talisman, we are bringing modern rental residences to a popular and thriving district with a vast variety of shopping and dining options, as well as major employers,” said Suzi Morris, senior vice president for Lowe. “It is also convenient to other area business hubs including downtown Seattle.”

The Talisman will consist of a mix of one- and two-bedroom flats and lofts, showcasing comfortable floorplans. An on-site concierge is available to assist residents with their needs and community amenities include a host of common areas that can be used for organized programs and informal gatherings.

Located at 7405 168th Ave. NE, the development will feature upscale, industrial-inspired architecture that fits in well with the already vibrant Redmond Town Center environment. The Talisman will also feature plenty of green space thanks to its proximity to the Sammamish River Trail and Downtown Park. The city of Redmond is located 15 miles northeast of downtown Seattle, close to Microsoft’s world headquarters and numerous other leading software, technology research and aerospace companies.

The development offers ideal access to Highways 520 and 202. The neighborhood of the Talisman includes public transit and the Microsoft Connector shuttle bus is scheduled to stop directly across the street from the building. The Overlake Light Rail Station will begin transporting professionals to their offices throughout the region in 2023, with a planned extension to downtown Redmond by 2024.

Lowe originally purchased the 1.6-acre site in 2015. It’s the latest addition to Lowe’s portfolio of mixed-use developments in sought-after locations. Compass Construction is the general contractor on the development, while Encore Architects is handling building design and Community Atelier landscape design. Greystar will serve as property manager.
